MWD lithium battery basic knowledge

The power supply battery of the MWD directional system is an industrial-grade standard high-energy long-life lithium battery pack. The voltage of lithium batteries cannot be compared with manganese batteries or alkaline batteries. Therefore, please never combine various types with different types, different modes, or different chemical compositions. batteries are mixed.

In the case of a period of storage or non-use, the battery will produce a "passivation" phenomenon, and an oxide layer will be coated on the cathode of the lithium battery. This is conducive to reducing the performance degradation ability of the battery cell. When the battery is used in the field, this passivation film must be removed, usually done for battery loading.

While in use, individual battery cells will expand slightly, depending on the load and the maximum ambient temperature around them.

Lithium batteries cannot be short-circuited, recharged, over-discharged, punctured, crushed, or placed in an environment where the temperature exceeds 150 degrees, otherwise, it may cause an explosion.

Lithium batteries are very safe as long as you master the common sense and correct usage of lithium batteries.

MWD Lithium battery composition

Lithium batteries contain an anode, thionyl chloride, and a cathode immersed in it (or use a lithium alloy in batteries with higher temperature ratings), a metal element that reacts violently with water and releases hydrogen gas. Thionyl chloride is a toxic liquid substance, colorless to pale yellow, with a pungent odor, in water or water vapor, it decomposes into toxic sulfur dioxide and hydrogen chloride gas. No harmful polymers and carcinogens are present.

The structure of each battery cell allows it to withstand the internal pressure generated during use, and it must be remembered that as the temperature increases, the battery volume will be subjected to high pressure, and when the battery is damaged or broken, it will be Sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen are released, and lithium and thionyl saturated carbon will also be present in these gases if the cell cracks large enough to expose internal components.
